Patola Dress Ideas that You Should Try For a Coming Event

On hearing Patola the 1st thing that comes to mind is the song that goes " jab tu nikli patola banke, mudeya ki jaan te bane" from Blackmail sung by my favourite Guru Randhawa. But unfortunately, Kirti Kulhari is not wearing a Patola suit in it. But if u haven't watched the video, please have a look, she looks stunning in that red lehenga and if you are looking for some red lehenga idea, do take a look at that.

So yes, back to Patola Print, it is basically double ikkat weaving of fabric , but has a mix of bandhini tie-dye technique too. The craft has its roots in Gujarat. The traditional prints commonly found are parrot, peacock, girl, elephant etc on a usual diamond pattern. If you have heard of Patan Patola, this is

Blue Designer Lehenga With Butta Fabric

We all want to wear designer dresses to a close friend's wedding or relative's. Today we have bought this Blue Lehenga Video which I found on Pinterest.

Lets just break down this dress and evaluate on the costs of making this dress and some cut throughs to create this same look in reduced cost. I will give you the costs on each variant also. You can even place order with us and we will deliver fully stitched dress.

Lets us first breakdown the elements of this dress.

-> The blouse has embroidery work in bunches on the crop top with princess cut. Same embroidery on sleeve ends also. The embroidery specifically used here is zardosi work . There is small bunches on the back of the blouse also. The neckline is wide W.
-> The skirt is a layered gather type in butta georgette fabric. The end is frilled with the same embrodiery on the ends. This work is hand embroidery. The heavy latkan is a usual in all such lehengas.
-> Dupatta is plain georgette with scallop zari end.

Lets Start with the fabric usage

-> These are samples of butta fabrics which are dyeable and can be dyed to desired color. This fabric can be used for the skirt.

dyeable georgette

-> The blouse work is pure handwork.
For an alternate you can use selfworked fabric in mulbery silk or georgette like below

-> Dupatta you can get scalloped ready dupatta or even customize. To cut on cost, you can go for plain dupatta with a thin scallop design border.
-> latkans can be bought or we can custom make to desire.

Coming to the Pricing

-> Exactly Same Design as in Video: Price range can be said to be 19000 - 22000 range . Zardosi work and basically hand work are costly elements. The flair end work on the skirt is a reasonably good volume of hand work.
-> The cost cutting factors are
* The bottom flair of the skirt has heavy handwork. This is one of the main cost factor. You can cut the cost by replacing the work with lace. The lace can be hand embroidered laces which can cut the cost by around 3000. Embroidery laces or bridal ones are available starting from 1000/ 9 mtr roll. Further cut down can be obtained by doing a stone work border or even avoiding it if its a simple event.
* Instead of handwork on blouse, you can use ready fabric for blouse as in above. This can bring down your cost considerably like about 5-6 k.
* Keep the dupatta and butta georgette material as they are key elements in the beauty of the dress.

Hope the article has helped people looking for inspirational ideas to create your lehenga.
