Onam Vishu Kurti Designs

It is traditional to wear a set saree or a set mundu for onam or vishu. Or sometimes you have special event at your temple and you want to wear something Kerala style. But you do not want to wear a saree, Here we have listed a few designer kurti designs for such occasions where you can stay comfortable in a kurti and yet slay the trad look.

This is a silver and ona kodi combination. There is no handwork element added to this. It is done in a maxi dress pattern. Silver fabric with self mirror work has been added to the yoke portion and also the sleeve end. There are small pleated gathers at the waistline.

The fabric used is premium kota with abstract self design. Cut bead work has been given to enhance the look on the neck and sleeve. This design is a little different from the usual ones and you can prefer such designs if you do not want to get lost in the crowd of similar designs. This is a slited salwar suit. You can choose to wear with or without dupatta. A light golden silk dupatta will be a great match.

This piece is a lovely handcrafted one with handwork on the neckline and sleeve end. A similar design of traingles have been used with a tad bit of thread work french knots. The color is beige and the soft handlom cotton fabric will make you feel comfortable even when the sun is above your head.

This is a much loved design. Several design elements have been used int his one.  The golden net self design fabric patch has been used on the yoke. It's made in 3 panels with slit. The panels are enhanced with golden piping. The net fabric has been used in an insert style on the sleeves and the ghera. And finally, it is a collar design and pleated sleeve design has also been included. But the point to note is that, all these design elements have been imbibed into a single simple kurti design without making it look exaggerated.

Will post in more pics of this lovely black and silver tissue zari onam design kurti. Black fabric with self mirror work has been used in the central portion and sleeve. the piping on the sleeve finishes the look. There are small bead hangings on the end of the central portion.

More such designs will be posted in time to come. Keep watching the space.

283 saves on a Pinterest Post- Watch out this design

Yes, the color of the salwar could be the reason for the high number of saves. The lovely pista green shade. As you can see from the picture it is a simple neckline.

Necklines are the most easiest to enhance as you have a small area to work upon and can give a heavy work look. But the problem we face with neckline work is with customers who wear a dupatta. But this one came with a one side dupatta, so the design was perfect.

Always note that thread work element adds its own elegant to the dress. But when you give your dress for handwork, be known that thread embroidery work takes a longer time than simple beads. Instead of going for bullion flowers or so, stick to simple designs like the above, where we have rounded the pearl with frenchknot in  thread.

The rest is simple tube beads, sugar beads and kundan work. if you are wondering about the dupatta, we had given a light golden shade dupatta with green piping border.
