Latkan Designs Lehenga and Dupatta Ends
Latkans or hangings have become a necessity for simple lehengas to bridal ones. Bridal lehengas are now mostly worn with double dupattas and then you have to add some element from the skirt latkan.
The choice of the latkan is a very easy task. One thing we do in our boutique lehengas is that we dont tend to repeat designs. This gives us the advantage of non repeating designs. Here in this write up I will give you a simple classification of the types of latkan and some hints on how to use it.
Starting with custom name latkans. These look good in diamond shaped latkans with the name of the bride and the groom. If you are looking for more personalization like the lehenga of the bride's sister, use wordings accordingly " Dulhan Ki Behen" or so. or "Team Bride". Will give a simple "Advice" here, make sure you use the square latkan with some other elements like the thread tassels or beads or some black squares with simple stone work etc. This will give a rich look to the tassel as a whole.

The Vintage Wedding 2021 Sabyasachi Collection
Lets take a look at the dresses in the Sabyasachi Collection 2021
Peach has become a common color for Reception functions. This lehenga is rather subtle as the shade has been kept simple. Both the dupattas are peach. If you are trying to custom make your own sabyasachi style lehenga, you can rush to get a tassel border dyeable dupata. The use of broad border for the odni dupatta was a good move. The skirt has simple gota work. A good one for an evening event. I am not sure if this one has the mantra work on the lace border.
What is designing without a combination of red and white for a Calcutta based Bengali. The red and cream combination brings the livid impact of Indian culture. The bag with the trending lace border is an add on element. The embroidery work on the blouse sleeve is so classy and rich and with such perfection. Do not miss out on the " Aayushmati bava " lace on the border in a lovely lavender shade. Sabyasachi dresses have always given the courage to try something different with colors.
Iam not so good at keenly noticing menswear. But this one caught my attending with the out the cliche pink colored sherwani beautifully carried . The post has over 7000 likes in 24 hours. Why should only the women wear the ornaments and the banarasi. The borders and the banarasi has given the royal look to this otherwise simple costume.
Baby pink organza self embroidered saree. The killer look is the Jaguar on the purse. The blouse sleeve is the king element of the outfit.
This is a lively mix and match of peachy pink, red , orange and green. A play of colors for an enthu Indian bride. Different fabrics have been used for the blouse body and the sleeve, would you dare to wear one like this if not for Sabyasachi?
Loved the shade of the saree. Self design organza sari with the lovely sabya borders and accessories. Have finished the look. When you are designing your dress with a Boutique near your place, you can request them for a matching potli bag. Most of them will help you create one to match your outfit.
A unique piece in a unique shade with beautiful detailing. a good combination of borders have been used.
